Is Hershey's halal?
Hershey's makes no halal claim in the US; the company states that nearly all its chocolate products are kosher certified by the OU.
The longer answer
Hershey's FAQ page (checked October 2026) links to lists of kosher, vegan, gluten-free and zero sugar products and has no entry on halal. The Hershey Company's dietary needs page says it chose the Orthodox Union to certify products as kosher and that nearly all of its chocolate products and some non-chocolate products carry the OU symbol. We found no page on which Hershey names a halal certifier for US products. Hershey sells many products under this name and their ingredient lists differ.
What to check before you order
Read the ingredient line for gelatin on Hershey's products with marshmallow or other added pieces. Kosher certification is shown by the OU mark; there is no halal mark.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
