Is Jet-Puffed Marshmallows halal?

No

Kraft Heinz has stated that the gelatin in Jet-Puffed Marshmallows is pork-based.

The longer answer

Kraft Heinz's Jet-Puffed product pages (checked October 2026) list gelatin among the ingredients without naming its source. In the question and answer section of Target's Jet-Puffed listing, the Kraft Heinz Team answered a shopper in January 2021: "The type of gelatin used in JET-PUFFED Marshmallows are pork-based." We found no later statement from Kraft Heinz changing that answer. The product has no halal certification.

What to check before you order

Gelatin is on the ingredient line of the Jet-Puffed bags we checked, and the maker says it is pork-based. Marshmallows made with halal beef or fish gelatin carry a certifier's mark on the bag.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
