Is Kit Kat halal?
Kit Kat sold in the US is made by Hershey, which makes no halal claim for it; Kit Kat in some other countries is made by Nestlé with local halal certification.
The longer answer
In the United States Kit Kat is produced by The Hershey Company. Hershey's corporate FAQ and its dietary-needs pages (checked October 2026) cover kosher, gluten-free and zero-sugar products but say nothing about halal, and we found no halal certification claim for US Kit Kat.
Outside the US, Kit Kat is a Nestlé brand, and Nestlé publishes halal documentation in some markets, such as an Indonesian halal certificate for Kit Kat and a list of halal-certified products for New Zealand. Those documents cover products made for those markets, not the US bar.
What to check before you order
Check where the bar was made. A US Hershey-made Kit Kat has no halal mark; an imported Nestlé bar may carry one from the certifier in its country of origin. Read the ingredient list on flavored or limited-edition bars.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
