Is Lindt halal?
Lindt USA makes no halal claim and its FAQ does not mention halal. It says no liqueur-filled Lindt products are imported into the US and that its chocolates are suitable for vegetarians.
The longer answer
Lindt USA's FAQ (checked October 2026) has no question about halal and names no halal certifier. It does cover kosher: US-made LINDOR truffles are certified kosher dairy by Kof-K, while some imported LINDOR flavors are not.
On alcohol, the FAQ says: "Only a very few Lindt chocolate products contain alcohol or alcoholic liqueurs as an ingredient." It also says: "Due to the current federal and state regulations, Lindt Chocolate does not import any liqueur-filled products into the USA." Where alcohol is an added ingredient, Lindt says it is listed in the ingredient statement.
On animal ingredients, the FAQ says all Lindt chocolates, including LINDOR and EXCELLENCE, are suitable for vegetarians, and that animal products used "are limited to milk, milk products, milk fat, cream, shellac and, on occasion, eggs." The ingredient list on Lindt USA's page for Milk Chocolate LINDOR truffles shows milk chocolate, vegetable oil (coconut, palm kernel), sugar, soy lecithin, barley malt powder and artificial flavors, with no gelatin or alcohol listed.
What to check before you order
Read the ingredient statement on each box, especially on imported assortments and seasonal items, for alcohol or liqueur. Lindt bought abroad or in duty free can include liqueur-filled pieces that are not sold in the US.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
