Is M&M's halal?

No halal claim

M&M's make no halal claim in the US; the US FAQ states only that Milk Chocolate M&M's made and sold in the US are kosher.

The longer answer

The M&M's US FAQ (checked October 2026) says: "M&M'S Milk Chocolate Candies that are produced and sold in the United States are kosher." It has no entry about halal, gelatin or other animal-derived ingredients. Mars states on its Middle East and North Africa sites that Snickers and Twix sold in that region are halal suitable, which does not cover US products. We found no halal certifier for US-made M&M's.

What to check before you order

Read the ingredient line on the US pack and do not rely on halal statements made for Mars products sold in other regions.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
