Is Magnum halal?
Magnum ice cream bars in the US carry no halal claim. The bars we checked list no gelatin, but they do list vanilla extract and unspecified mono and diglycerides.
The longer answer
Magnum's US FAQ (archived copy from June 2026, read October 2026) says nothing about halal, kosher, gelatin or alcohol. Its only dietary statement is that the Non-Dairy flavors are suitable for vegan diets.
The US product page for the Milk Chocolate Ice Cream Bar lists milk, sugar, cocoa butter, nonfat milk, water, chocolate, milk fat, whey, mono and diglycerides, guar gum, soy lecithin, locust bean gum, vanilla extract, natural flavor and annatto extract. Double Chocolate has a similar list. Neither lists gelatin or carmine. The source of the mono and diglycerides and the makeup of the vanilla extract are not stated.
For comparison only: Magnum's UK FAQ says "Currently none of our Magnum ice cream products are Halal certified" and explains that it supplies product information to an organization it calls the GMWA, which forms its own view on whether Muslims can eat the products. That is a UK statement about UK products and does not apply to bars sold in the US.
What to check before you order
Read the ingredient list on the box. Vanilla extract and mono and diglycerides are listed without a source, and there is no halal mark on US packs that we could confirm.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
