Is My/Mochi halal?
My/Mochi says its mochi ice cream is halal certified, and its product pages show a halal seal, but the company does not name the certifier on its website.
The longer answer
My/Mochi's FAQ (checked October 2026) asks "Is My/Mochi Halal?" and answers: "Yes, My/Mochi products are Halal certified." The same FAQ says the products are certified by OK Kosher.
The product pages carry a row of seals that includes a halal seal, a crescent around the letter M, alongside a Kosher Dairy seal. Neither the FAQ nor the product page we read names the organization behind the halal certification, and we could not confirm it on a certifier's own website. For that reason we list this as a company statement, not as a verified certification.
The ingredient list for the Dubai Chocolate flavor shows a cream blend, cane sugar, sweet rice flour, egg whites, corn starch, natural flavors, plant-based colors and "enzyme", with no gelatin listed. The FAQ says the same company also makes the Mikawaya brand, which it describes as having traditional flavors such as Plum Wine; this entry covers My/Mochi only.
What to check before you order
Look for the halal seal on the box you are buying and note the certifier named there. Do not assume the sister brand Mikawaya is covered by the same statement.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
