Is Nerds halal?
Nerds make no halal claim; US Nerds Gummy Clusters list gelatin and carmine color, and the UK pack labels the gelatin as pork.
The longer answer
Ferrara's US Nerds site (checked October 2026) has no FAQ and no halal statement, and its product pages show ingredients only in a pop-up card. The US label for Nerds Rainbow Gummy Clusters, as reproduced on Hannaford's listing, includes gelatin and carmine color; the gelatin source is not stated on the US label. The UK pack of Nerds Gummy Clusters, as listed by Morrisons, declares "Gelatine (Pork)". The US label for Big Chewy Nerds on Hannaford lists no gelatin and no carmine. We found no halal certifier for any Nerds product sold in the US.
What to check before you order
Read the ingredient line for gelatin and carmine color on the exact Nerds product; Gummy Clusters list both, while some crunchy varieties list neither.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
