Is Nutter Butter halal?

No halal claim

Nutter Butter cookies have no halal certification in the US. The official ingredient lists show no gelatin, animal fat, dairy or egg in the sandwich cookies or wafers.

The longer answer

Mondelez's Snackworks site (checked October 2026) lists Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies as unbleached enriched flour, sugar, peanut butter (roasted peanuts, corn syrup solids, hydrogenated vegetable oil, salt, peanut oil), soybean and/or canola oil, whole grain wheat flour, high fructose corn syrup, palm oil, salt, leavening, soy lecithin and artificial flavor. The allergen line names wheat, peanut and soy.

The Nutter Butter Wafer Cookies list is similar and also shows no animal-derived ingredient.

Mondelez's corporate halal page says halal certification is managed through outside agencies and differs by country, and advises checking the ingredients and label. We found no halal certification for Nutter Butter in the US.

What to check before you order

Read the list on the exact pack, since limited editions and coated versions can differ from the two standard cookies we checked.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
