Is Samyang Buldak halal?

Unclear

Samyang America's site makes no halal statement, while at least one US retailer lists a Buldak product as halal. Check the pack.

The longer answer

Samyang America's site (checked October 2026) does not mention halal on its About page or its Buldak Original product page. The US ingredient list for Buldak Original shows artificial chicken flavor powder and no meat ingredient. Costco Business Center lists Samyang Buldak Carbonara bowls, imported from South Korea, with "Halal" under certifications. The Korea Times reported in 2019 that Samyang Foods obtained halal certification from MUI, Indonesia's Islamic council, in 2017 to sell in Southeast Asia. We did not find a Samyang statement saying which US products are certified or by which body, and versions of the same flavor may differ by market.

What to check before you order

Look for a halal logo on the individual pack or bowl. Do not assume every Buldak flavor or pack format on a US shelf carries it.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
