Is Sour Patch Kids halal?
Sour Patch Kids carry no halal certification in the US; the original US recipe lists modified corn starch and no gelatin.
The longer answer
Mondelez's US product page for Sour Patch Kids Soft & Chewy candy (checked October 2026) lists sugar, invert sugar, corn syrup, modified corn starch, tartaric acid, citric acid, natural and artificial flavor and four artificial colors. No gelatin or carmine appears in that list. The brand page and its FAQ say nothing about halal, and we found no halal certifier named for the US product. The source of the natural and artificial flavor is not described. Other Sour Patch Kids products and recipes sold in other countries can differ.
What to check before you order
Read the ingredient line on the bag you are buying, since varieties differ, and look for a halal mark; the US product pages we checked show none.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
