Is Tony's Chocolonely halal?

No halal claim

Tony's Chocolonely makes no halal claim on its US site. Its FAQ does not mention halal, and the nougat in its Milk Honey Almond Nougat bar is listed with egg whites, with no gelatin.

The longer answer

Tony's Chocolonely's US FAQ (checked October 2026) does not mention halal. On kosher it says: "Our chocolate is not certified kosher." We found no halal certifier named on the US site.

The US product page for the Milk Chocolate 32% bar lists sugar, dry whole milk, cocoa butter, chocolate liquor and soy lecithin, and describes the bar as suitable for vegetarians. Chocolate liquor is the industry term for ground cocoa and is not an alcoholic ingredient.

The Milk Honey Almond Nougat bar lists its nougat as cane sugar, wheat syrup, almonds, potato starch, cocoa butter, honey and egg whites. No gelatin or alcohol is listed on either page. We did not review every flavor, and Tony's sells seasonal and limited bars with other fillings.

What to check before you order

Read the ingredient list on the specific flavor, especially limited editions and filled bars. There is no halal or kosher mark on Tony's bars that we could confirm.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
