Is Triscuit halal?

No halal claim

Triscuit has no halal certification in the US. Original is just wheat, canola oil and sea salt, but cheese flavors use enzyme modified cheese with no enzyme source given.

The longer answer

Mondelez's Snackworks site (checked October 2026) lists Triscuit Original as "whole grain wheat, canola oil, sea salt" and describes it as a vegan cracker.

Cheese flavors are a different matter. Triscuit Four Cheese & Herb lists "enzyme modified cheese powders" (Monterey Jack, Romano and Parmesan), cheddar cheese powder, whey, cultured cream and natural flavor. The enzymes are listed without a source. Thin Crisps Sour Cream & Onion lists cultured cream, nonfat milk and natural flavor but no cheese.

Mondelez's corporate halal page says halal certification is managed through outside agencies and varies by country, and advises consumers to check the ingredients and label. We found no halal certification for Triscuit in the US.

What to check before you order

Original and other plain varieties have the shortest lists. For any cheese flavor, the enzymes in the cheese powder are the thing to ask Mondelez about.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
