Is Trix halal?
Trix cereal lists no gelatin or other meat ingredients, but General Mills makes no halal claim and the cereal is not halal certified.
The longer answer
General Mills' foodservice product pages for Trix (checked October 2026) list whole grain corn, sugar, corn meal, corn syrup, maltodextrin, rice flour, canola and/or sunflower oil, color (vegetable and fruit juice, annatto extract, turmeric extract and other color added), salt, natural and artificial flavor, trisodium phosphate, citric acid, malic acid and rosemary extract, plus added vitamins and minerals. A second pack has a similar list without the maltodextrin and corn meal. No gelatin is listed on either.
Vitamin D3 is among the added vitamins, and General Mills does not state its source on these pages.
The pages make no halal statement, and we found no halal certification for Trix.
What to check before you order
Read the ingredient list on the box you buy, since recipes vary by pack and season. Flavors and vitamin D3 are not broken down by source on the label.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
