Is Turkey Hill halal?
Turkey Hill makes no halal claim. It says all its products are certified kosher, and none of the ice cream ingredient lists we read includes gelatin.
The longer answer
Turkey Hill's FAQ (checked October 2026) does not mention halal. It says: "All products manufactured by Turkey Hill are certified kosher." On emulsifiers it says of its mono and diglycerides: "These emulsifiers are derived from vegetable oils."
We read the ingredient lists on 64 ice cream and frozen dessert pages on turkeyhill.com. None lists gelatin, carmine or alcohol. The marshmallow flavors use a marshmallow swirl made with corn syrup, sugar, modified corn starch, glycerine and egg albumen instead of gelatin; that is what Chocolate Marshmallow and Rocky Road list.
Original Vanilla lists milk, cream, sugar, corn syrup, whey, nonfat milk, cellulose gel and gum, natural and artificial flavors, mono and diglycerides, carrageenan, annatto color and caramel color. Flavorings are not broken down, and the source of the glycerine in the marshmallow is not stated.
What to check before you order
Read the carton for the exact flavor and look for the kosher symbol if that helps you. Flavorings and glycerine are listed without a source.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
