Is Yoplait halal?

Some items or locations

Yoplait says many of its yogurts are halal, including Yoplait Original, but that its Whips! range is not; no certifier is named.

The longer answer

Yoplait's US FAQ (checked October 2026) answers "Is Yoplait yogurt halal?" with "Yes, many of our products are halal, including our Yoplait Original range" and adds that the Whips! range is not halal. The FAQ does not name a halal certifier, so this is the brand's own statement and not a certification. It says gelatin is used in some yogurts and that the gelatin is certified kosher with KD (Kosher Dairy) certification; the FAQ does not state the animal source. It lists Kids Cup, the 32 oz size and Yoplait Smooth Strawberry and Blueberry as gelatin free. It also says carmine is used in some flavors and is listed on the cup.

What to check before you order

Check the cup for gelatin and carmine in the ingredient list, and avoid assuming one Yoplait line matches another. There is no halal mark to rely on.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
