Is Orgain halal?

No halal claim

Orgain makes no halal claim. Most of its products are kosher certified by the Orthodox Union, and its help center has no article on halal certification.

The longer answer

Orgain's help center (checked October 2026) has a Certifications and Testing section with four articles: USDA Organic, Vegan, Kosher and Whole30. There is no halal article and halal is not mentioned.

The kosher article says the majority of Orgain products are "certified Kosher by Orthodox Union (OU) and will have the OU or OU-D mark on the packaging." It lists the exceptions as the Collagen Peptides Powder, the Keto Collagen Peptides Powder with MCT Oil and the Collagen Zero Protein Powder, which are not kosher certified.

Many Orgain powders are plant-based, and the company says its vegan products are certified plant-based. Kosher and vegan certifications are separate from halal certification, and Orgain does not claim the latter.

What to check before you order

The plant-based powders avoid animal ingredients, which many people find sufficient. The collagen powders are animal-derived and are not even kosher certified, so treat those with more caution.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
