Is SmartyPants halal?

No halal claim

SmartyPants says it has no halal certification. Its omega formulas contain beef gelatin, while its Organic, Zero Sugar and no-omega lines are gelatin-free.

The longer answer

SmartyPants addresses the question on its own product pages (checked October 2026). The FAQ on the Women's Zero Sugar Multi & Omegas page asks whether the formula is gelatin-free, halal or kosher, and answers: "Our Zero Sugar Multi & Omegas formulas are Vegetarian and Gelatin-Free." It then adds: "At this time, we do not have Halal or Kosher Certifications."

For the classic gummies, the Adult Multi & Omegas page says: "Our formulas that include omega-3 DHA & EPA from fish oil and algal oil do contain gelatin (sourced from bovine)." That page lists both pectin and gelatin in the other ingredients. SmartyPants does not say the cattle are halal slaughtered.

The same FAQ names the gelatin-free lines as the Organic, Sugar Free and Multi (without Omegas) products, plus companion formulas such as its probiotics, Kids Fiber & Veggies and Kids Triple Action Immunity.

What to check before you order

Check whether gelatin is in the other ingredients. If it is, SmartyPants says it is bovine, with no halal certification. The Organic and Zero Sugar lines are described as vegetarian and gelatin-free.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
