Is Applegate halal?

No halal claim

Applegate makes no halal claim. Its help center has no results for halal, and its range mixes pork products with beef and turkey ones.

The longer answer

Searching Applegate's help center for "halal" (checked October 2026) returns "No results". The same is true for "kosher". We found no halal statement and no named certifier anywhere on the pages we read.

Ingredients depend on the product. The Great Organic Uncured Beef Hot Dog lists organic grass-fed beef, water and less than 2% of sea salt, organic vinegar, baking soda, organic garlic, organic paprika, organic spices, organic dehydrated onion and cultured celery powder, with no pork. The Natural Uncured Pork & Beef Hot Dog lists pork first, then water and beef. Applegate also sells bacon, breakfast sausage and Italian deli meats.

Applegate's marketing is about antibiotics, animal welfare and simple ingredients. Those standards are not halal certification and do not describe the slaughter in religious terms.

What to check before you order

Read the product name and ingredient list carefully, because pork and non-pork versions sit side by side. Even the all-beef and turkey items carry no halal mark.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
