Is Bell & Evans halal?

No halal claim

Bell & Evans' own FAQ asks "Are your chickens Halal certified?" and answers "No." It gives the same answer for kosher.

The longer answer

Bell & Evans addresses the question directly. Its FAQ page (checked October 2026) includes the question "Are your chickens Halal certified?" with the one word answer "No." The next question, "Are your chickens kosher?", gets the same answer.

The company's animal welfare page describes how the birds are processed: they stay in the transport modules and "are rendered unconscious through Slow Induction Anesthesia" before harvest.

Bell & Evans markets its chicken on animal welfare and air chilling. Those are separate from halal, and the company does not claim halal for its chicken.

What to check before you order

Bell & Evans chicken is not halal certified, by the company's own statement. If you want certified chicken at the same stores, look for a brand that carries a named halal certifier's mark on the pack.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
