Is Crescent Foods halal?

Yes, certified

Crescent Foods sells hand-slaughtered halal chicken and beef overseen by the Shar'i Zabihah Committee of Islamic Social Services.

The longer answer

Crescent Foods' certification page (checked October 2026) states that 'Crescent chickens are hand slaughtered individually according to Halal guidelines by Muslims with strict adherence to all required aspects including direction to Qiblah' and that 'All our cattle is Hand Processed Halal.' Its FAQ says 'the Shar'i Zabihah Committee of Islamic Social Services conduct random inspection visits to Crescent Foods' Slaughtering and Processing facilities to determine Halal compliance.' The company says it has been antibiotic-free since 1996 and sells 'Premium Halal Hand-Cut' tray-pack products; its listed contact numbers use Chicago's 773 area code, though the HQ address is not stated on the pages we read. The site warns it cannot guarantee authenticity unless the product is in a retail tray pack with the Crescent label.

What to check before you order

Buy only sealed tray packs with the Crescent Foods label; loose or repacked meat sold as Crescent is not guaranteed by the company.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
