Is Eggo halal?

No halal claim

Eggo makes no halal claim. Eggo Buttermilk Waffles list no gelatin, lard or meat, contain milk and eggs, and are marked Kosher Dairy on the brand's website.

The longer answer

The ingredient list on Eggo's website for Buttermilk Waffles (checked October 2026) is enriched flour, water, buttermilk, vegetable oil (soybean, palm, canola and/or cottonseed), sugar, leavening, fructose, salt, natural flavor, soy lecithin and eggs, plus added vitamins and minerals. No gelatin, lard or meat is listed. The page shows "KOSHER: KOSHER DAIRY".

Eggo's FAQ says "Eggo foods are not vegan" and confirms that the waffles contain small amounts of egg and milk. The source of the natural flavor and of the added vitamins is not stated on the page.

The FAQ does not mention halal, and we found no halal certification for Eggo. We only read the Buttermilk Waffles list, and Eggo sells many other varieties, so other products may differ.

What to check before you order

Check the ingredient list of the exact variety, especially flavored or filled items, for gelatin or meat. Natural flavors are not broken down on the label.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
