Is Hidden Valley Ranch halal?

No halal claim

Hidden Valley makes no halal claim. Its Original Ranch bottled dressing lists oil, buttermilk, spices and natural flavors, with no meat, gelatin or alcohol listed.

The longer answer

The SmartLabel page for Hidden Valley Original Ranch Salad Dressing and Topping, 16 fl oz (checked October 2026) lists vegetable oil (soybean and/or canola), water, buttermilk, sugar, salt, and under 1 percent of spices, dried garlic, dried onion, vinegar, phosphoric acid, xanthan gum, monosodium glutamate, natural flavors, disodium phosphate, preservatives, and disodium inosinate and guanylate.

No meat, gelatin, lard or alcohol appears on that list. The make-up of the natural flavors is not given, and the page does not say how the flavor enhancers are sourced.

Hidden Valley's FAQ page does not mention halal, and we found no halal certification from the brand or its owner Clorox. We only read the original bottled dressing. Flavored ranches and the dry mixes have their own lists.

What to check before you order

Check the exact bottle: flavored versions and dry mixes differ from the original. Natural flavors are not broken down on the label.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
