Is Hillshire Farm halal?
Hillshire Farm's Smoked Sausage and Polska Kielbasa list pork as the first meat ingredient, and the brand makes no halal claim on any product we checked.
The longer answer
Hillshire Farm's product pages (checked October 2026) give the ingredients of its Smoked Sausage as "Meat ingredients (pork, beef), mechanically separated turkey, water, corn syrup" plus seasonings and curing ingredients, "made with beef collagen casing." The Polska Kielbasa page lists the same meats in the same order, also with a beef collagen casing.
So the casing on these two products is beef, but the sausage itself contains pork. The brand's range also includes hams, cocktail links, summer sausage and deli meats.
We found no halal statement on the Hillshire Farm pages we read, and no certifier is named for any product.
What to check before you order
Check the ingredient list on every Hillshire Farm product: the main smoked sausages contain pork. Turkey or beef varieties, where sold, are not halal certified.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
