Is Impossible Foods halal?
Impossible says its ground sausage, sausage links and most retail Impossible Beef are halal certified by IFANCA; its other products are not.
The longer answer
Impossible Foods' FAQ (checked October 2026) says Impossible Ground Sausage, Impossible Sausage Links and most retail Impossible Beef products are halal and kosher certified, and that its halal-certified products are certified by the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA). The same page says Impossible Beef Hot Dogs, Steak Bites and Grilled Burger Patties are not halal certified, and that its other products are not certified at this time. It adds that you need to check with whoever prepares a meal whether the preparation is fully halal. IFANCA first certified the Impossible Burger in December 2018, according to FoodNavigator.
What to check before you order
Check the package for the IFANCA mark, because certification differs by product. In restaurants, ask whether the patty shares a grill with non-halal meat.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
