Is Perdue halal?

Some items or locations

Perdue sells halal-certified PERDUE HARVESTLAND chicken to foodservice buyers; its consumer site makes no halal claim for retail packs.

The longer answer

Perdue Foodservice has a "Halal Certified" page and product filter (checked October 2026) listing PERDUE HARVESTLAND No Antibiotics Ever items described as halal, including breaded tenderloins, breast filets, drumsticks, leg quarters and whole broilers. Its sell sheet says the chicken "is raised under strict halal law". Neither the page nor the sell sheet we read names the certifying body or describes the slaughter method. These are case-pack products for restaurants and institutions. The consumer FAQ on perdue.com does not mention halal, and a search for "halal" there returned no halal-labeled retail product.

What to check before you order

Retail Perdue packs should not be assumed halal. If a restaurant says it serves Perdue halal chicken, ask to see the case label or certificate and which body issued it.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
