Is Restaurant Depot halal?

No halal claim

Restaurant Depot's website says nothing about halal. Community listings report halal-certified meat at many branches, so check the certificate posted in store.

The longer answer

Restaurant Depot's public website and its FAQ page (checked October 2026) do not mention halal. Its product catalog sits behind a member login, so we could not see which halal brands it lists.

Zabihah.com, a community halal directory, lists a number of Restaurant Depot branches as "Partially halal". The Ypsilanti, Michigan listing we read describes "halal certified meats (from turkey slices to whole lamb)" and says "The Islamic halal certification is posted right beside the halal meat in the same section." It also notes that staff gave verbal assurance. The listing does not name the certifier. This is a community report, not a statement from Restaurant Depot.

Restaurant Depot is a wholesale warehouse that sells many suppliers' products side by side, so halal status belongs to each brand and case, not to the store.

What to check before you order

Read the label on the case for the supplier's name and halal certifier, and look for the certificate posted in the meat section. Do not assume a product is halal because it sits near halal items.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
