Grocery and meat

Is Saffron Road halal?

Yes, certified

All Saffron Road products are halal-certified by IFANCA.

The longer answer

Saffron Road's FAQ (checked October 2026) states: 'All Saffron Road products are certified Halal by IFANCA.' The about page adds that livestock 'are slaughtered by a Muslim reciting the tasmiya and the takbir' and that animals meet Global Animal Partnership or similar welfare standards. The company was founded in 2010 by Adnan Durrani, is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, and launched at Whole Foods Market in July 2010; products are frozen entrees, simmer sauces, snacks and club-store meal kits rather than fresh meat.

What to check before you order

Look for the IFANCA crescent-M mark on the package; use the saffronroad.com store locator for local availability.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
