Is Similac halal?

Some items or locations

Abbott lists several Similac formulas as halal, including Similac 360 Total Care, but names no certifier, and its Similac Alimentum page has no halal statement.

The longer answer

Abbott's US nutrition product pages (checked October 2026) include "Halal." in the feature list for several Similac formulas. We saw it on the pages for Similac 360 Total Care, Similac 360 Total Care Sensitive, Similac NeoSure and Similac Organic, in each case next to "Kosher; made with dairy ingredients."

The pages do not name a halal certifier, so we report this as the maker's own statement. Not every product has it: the Similac Alimentum page we read does not mention halal at all.

The consumer site similac.com did not add anything. Its FAQ page covers ordering and payment, and we found no halal statement there.

What to check before you order

Check the exact formula and format, since Abbott marks halal product by product. Look for a halal statement on the can or on Abbott's page for that product, and ask Abbott which body certifies it if you need to know.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
