Is Slim Jim halal?
No. Slim Jim's FAQ says the original stick is made from beef, pork and mechanically separated chicken, and that most Slim Jim products contain pork.
The longer answer
Slim Jim's FAQ (checked October 2026) describes the product as "a spicy sausage snack product made from beef, pork, and mechanically separated chicken." Asked "Do Slim Jims have pork?", it answers: "Yes, most Slim Jim products contain pork."
The FAQ also says the casing "is made of beef collagen" and is meant to be eaten. It states plainly that Slim Jims are not kosher. Halal is not mentioned anywhere on the page, and no halal certifier is named.
The FAQ points to SmartLabel for the ingredients of each individual product. We did not find any Slim Jim variety that the company describes as pork free or halal.
What to check before you order
Assume pork unless the ingredient list on the specific product says otherwise, and note that no Slim Jim product is halal certified.
How we decide
We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
