Is Trader Joe's halal?

No halal claim

Trader Joe's makes no halal claim on its website, and a site search for "halal" returns no products.

The longer answer

A search for "halal" on traderjoes.com (checked October 2026) returned 0 results, while the same search for "kosher" returned several hundred. The Product Information FAQ and General FAQ pages cover GMOs, organic, antibiotics and vegan products but do not mention halal. We found no Trader Joe's statement naming a halal certifier for any of its own-label meat or packaged products. The site notes that not every product sold in stores is shown online, so an individual package may carry a certifier's mark that the website does not list.

What to check before you order

Look for a halal certifier's logo on the individual package; the website will not tell you. For meat, treat it as not halal unless the label carries a named certifier.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
