Is Uncrustables halal?

No halal claim

Uncrustables makes no halal claim. The Peanut Butter and Grape Jelly sandwich lists no gelatin, meat or alcohol, and Smucker's says all Uncrustables are kosher certified.

The longer answer

The ingredient list on Smucker's Uncrustables website for the Peanut Butter and Grape Jelly sandwich (checked October 2026) covers three parts. The bread is flour, water, sugar, yeast, soybean oil, wheat gluten, salt, guar gum and a dough conditioner of enzymes, ascorbic acid and calcium peroxide. The peanut butter is peanuts, sugar, fully hydrogenated vegetable oils, salt and molasses. The jelly is sugar, grape juice, pectin, citric acid and potassium sorbate. The page marks it "Kosher Pareve".

No gelatin, lard, meat or alcohol is listed. The source of the dough conditioner enzymes is not stated.

The brand's FAQ says "all Smucker's Uncrustables products are Kosher certified" and that the products are not considered vegan. It does not mention halal, and we found no halal certification.

What to check before you order

Check the box of the exact flavor, since the range now goes beyond peanut butter and jelly. Enzymes in the bread are listed without a source.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
