Grocery and meat

Is Walmart halal?

Some items or locations

Walmart sells some halal-labeled third-party meat, such as Crescent Foods chicken, but we found no halal claim on its own store-brand meat.

The longer answer

Walmart.com listings checked in October 2026 include Crescent Foods fresh chicken (whole cut, breasts, thighs, tenderloins), whose product page describes it as "Certified Halal, Hand-Cut". The same searches also return other halal-labeled brands such as Boxed Halal and Devanco beef bacon, alongside store-brand chicken (Marketside) that has no halal wording. We did not find a Walmart statement about halal sourcing or a Walmart private-label meat product labeled halal. The search listings do not name the certifier for each product, and stock differs by store.

What to check before you order

Check the brand and the certifier's logo on the package, not the shelf tag or the search result. Set your store on walmart.com to see whether it carries the halal-labeled brands.

How we decide

We only report what the company or its certifier has said publicly, and we link to it below. We do not test food, and we do not take a brand’s word from a single franchise. If a location tells you something different from this page, trust the location and tell us.
